This is why most bloggers like to have a desktop blogging client such as Windows Live Writer.
Windows Live Writer is available for free from Microsoft as part of their Windows Live Essentials package. You can download Windows Live Writer here. Live Writer is probably the best free blogging client available for Windows. In this article, we describe the steps to set up Windows Live Writer for your WordPress blog.

3. Launch Windows Live Writer and go to ‘Add blog account…’ from the Blogs menu.
4. In the first step of the ‘Add blog account’ wizard, you are asked to choose the type of blog service you will be using. Select the 4th option, ‘Other blog service’ in case of Blogger, WordPress, TypePad, etc. Click ‘Next’ to continue.

5. In the next step, enter the http web address of your blog (http://www.example.com), username and password for your admin panel. You can also assign a proxy in this step by clicking on the ‘Set proxy…’ option. Click ‘Next’ to continue.

6. Windows Live Writer will now analyze your blog publishing interface, and so on.

7. At this point, Live Writer asks your permission to create a temporary post for detecting your blog theme. Click ‘Yes’ to continue.

8. In the final step, you are asked to give your Blog a nickname. Click ‘Finish’.

That’s it. You are all set to start publishing posts and pages to your blog from Live Writer. You can add as many blogs as you like to Live Writer in this way and switch between them easily from the ‘Blogs’ menu. Live Writer has 3 different views, viz. ‘Edit’, ‘Preview’ and ‘Source’. You can compose your article in the ‘Edit’ view, switch to ‘Preview’ tab to see how it would actually look like when it’s published, and go to the ‘Source’ tab if you want to edit the HTML yourself.
The ‘Edit’ view is the most often used one. You can copy and paste images, insert tables, photo albums, videos, and so on. Basically you can do all that you do from your WordPress editor, including adding categories, tags, setting a publish date, and so on.
