Facebook Page: How To Create, Manage, And Edit

Whether you have your own blog, your own product website, a local business such a restaurant or just would like to connect with your friends or fans through Facebook, you will need a separate Facebook page.

By creating a Facebook fan page, you get a public profile, which you can then share with your customers, fans, or clients.

This way you can keep your private profile separate from your public identity. By creating multiple Facebook pages, you can have separate identities, say one for your business, one for your personal blog, and so on.

1. From Where Can I Create, Edit, Or Manage ‘Pages’ In My Facebook Account

Click ‘Home’ that can be found on the top right of your Facebook account, and then click on ‘Ads and Pages’ link in the left panel.

This will take you to ‘Pages’ tab, where you can find the list of all your existing pages, if any. Here, you can create a new page, edit an existing page from the list, advertise a page, delete pages.

2. How To Create Facebook Page

Here are the steps to create a Facebook page. You must be logged in to your Facebook account.

1. Go to Facebook Create Page (direct link) or follow the above steps to open the ‘Pages’ tab . Click on ‘Create Page’.

2. There are three categories of Facebook pages that you can create -

1. Local
2. Brand, Product, or Organization
3. Artist, Band, or Public Figure

Choose the one that is suitable for you. Say you have a business such as a hotel/restaurant, a professional service, etc, choose the business listed under the ‘Local’ drop down menu. In case you have a website, an online ecommerce store or a blog that you want to showcase, select from the drop down list of ‘Brand, Product, or Organization’.

Give a name to the page that you want to create, and click the ‘Create Page’ button. You will then be taken to the newly created page, where you can configure it’s visibility, the default landing tab, fan permissions, and so on by clicking on the ‘Settings’ button on the ‘Wall’. Want to let your friends or fans know about this page? Click on the Share button at the bottom left, and your message will reach all your profile followers, or to even specific email addresses.

Upload your Photos from the ‘Photos’ tab, and write something about yourself, your company/organization, products, or your brand on the ‘Info’ tab.

That’s it. You now have your own Facebook page. If you want to copy the URL of this page, follow the steps described in step 1 above to go to the ‘Pages’ in your Facebook account. Simply right click on the page link, and copy it’s URL to use it on your website or blog.

3. How To Edit Facebook Page

Open the ‘Manage Pages’ tab in your Facebook account (steps given above in the first section). Under the page that you want to edit, click on the ‘Edit Page’ link (see screenshot below).

This will take you to the ‘Manage Page’ tab, where you can change the logo for the page (click on the existing logo, or the ?), settings such as people belonging to which countries and of what age are allowed to view your page,, wall settings such as the default view for your fans, who can post to your wall, mobile settings, applications, events, and so on and so forth.

How To Delete Facebook Page

First go to the ‘Manage Pages’ tab in your Facebook account following the steps given in section one above. For the page under consideration, click ‘Delete’, and confirm by hitting ‘Delete’ again in the pop up window.
